Privacy Policy for Allan's Fin Vault

This Privacy Policy explains how Allan's Fin Vault handles information when you use the app. The short version: your finance data is stored on your device, and Google is only used for optional backups that you choose to run.

Last updated: 09 February 2026

Quick summary

  • No account with us: you do not create an Allan's Fin Vault account.
  • No personal finance data is sent to our servers: we do not run a central database of your transactions.
  • Data lives on your device: your entries are stored locally on your phone by default.
  • Google is only for backup: if you turn it on, the app uses your Google account to save a backup file into your own Google Drive.
  • No ads or tracking SDKs: the app does not show advertising or use third‑party tracking for marketing.

1. Information we collect

Allan's Fin Vault is designed as a simple, offline‑first finance tracker. The app does not require you to create an online account with us, and we do not receive your personal finance data on our own servers.

There are two main types of information involved when you use the app:

  • Finance data you enter into the app – such as amounts, categories, notes, and goals. This information is stored locally on your device.
  • Technical information used by Google for backup (optional) – if you choose to connect your Google account for backups, Google provides an access token so the app can save a backup file into your Google Drive.

1.1 Finance data (expenses, income, goals)

All finance data you enter – for example, expenses, income, categories, and vaults/goals – is stored locally on your device in the app's private storage.

  • We do not transmit this data to our own servers.
  • We do not sell or rent this data to anyone.
  • We cannot see your personal entries from outside your device.

1.2 Google account information (only if you enable backup)

If you choose to connect a Google account to Allan's Fin Vault for backup, the app uses Google's sign‑in and Google Drive APIs so that a backup file can be saved into your own Google Drive.

In this case:

  • The app receives a token from Google to authorise access only to the specific Drive location used for the backup file. It does not read your emails, contacts, or the rest of your Drive.
  • The backup file is created by the app and stored under your Google account. You can view and delete that file from your Google Drive at any time.
  • We do not receive a copy of that backup file on our own servers.

2. How your data is stored

2.1 On your device

The app stores its main database in your device's internal app storage. Other apps normally cannot read this area without special access.

If you uninstall the app or reset your device without a backup, the local data may be permanently lost. We do not keep a copy that we can restore for you.

2.2 Local export or backup files

The app may also allow you to export a backup file to your device storage (for example, to a Downloads or Documents folder).

  • These backup files live in the folders you select on your device.
  • You are responsible for keeping those files safe and deleting them when you no longer need them.

2.3 Backups in Google Drive (optional)

If you enable Google backup, the app can create a backup file and upload it to a private area in your Google Drive linked to your Google account.

  • The backup is only created when you tap the backup option in the app.
  • The app needs an internet connection to complete the upload.
  • You can remove access by disconnecting your Google account from the app or via your Google Account permissions page.
  • You can delete any backup file directly from Google Drive at any time.

3. Advertising, analytics and tracking

To keep things simple and private:

  • No in‑app advertising: the app does not display third‑party ads.
  • No marketing trackers: we do not use third‑party marketing SDKs to build advertising profiles.
  • No sale of data: we do not sell, rent, or trade personal data about how you use Allan's Fin Vault to anyone.

4. Your choices and controls

4.1 Using the app without Google

You can use Allan's Fin Vault completely offline and without connecting a Google account. In this mode the app only stores data locally on your device.

4.2 Enabling or disabling Google backup

If you connect a Google account for backup, you can disconnect it at any time from within the app (where provided) or by revoking the app's access in your Google Account security settings.

4.3 Deleting data

You can remove your data in several ways:

  • From your device: uninstalling the app or using any in‑app “clear data” or “reset” option (where available) will delete the local database stored by the app.
  • From local backup files: delete any exported backup files from your device storage using your file manager app.
  • From Google Drive: delete the backup files created by Allan's Fin Vault directly from your Google Drive account.

Because we do not keep a copy of your finance data on our servers, once it is deleted from your device and backups, we cannot restore it.

5. Children’s privacy

Allan's Fin Vault is designed for general use and is not targeted at children. Parents or guardians who allow children to use the app should supervise how it is used and manage any backups.

6. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to keep it accurate with how the app works. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. The latest version will always be available from within the app or on the website where this policy is hosted.
